10 Top Influencers To Follow In Disruptive Technology

The beauty of technology is how it keeps changing and evolving with time. In these times, we are experiencing major disruptions from around the world in various categories that have also just emerged recently such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Blockchain, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality among others.

With these disruptive technologies, there arises an urge to keep up with what tech guys and companies are doing and what thought leaders in the industry think, together with predicting the future of these technologies and the changing nature of work and generally the world we live in.

I’ve prepared this list of top thought leaders and influencers in the world of technology from around the world and also narrowed down a bit on some from Africa.

From around the world.

The influencers above are all from outside Africa, so the content they provide too won’t have much bearing on Africa. This creates a picture that Africa is missing in action when it comes to disruptive technology, which is quite true. In as much as we have tech startups around in the silicon savannah, Nigeria, South Africa and elsewhere, we lag behind and have a long way to go in terms of developing our own technologies particularly hardware. I hope we will make the big strides fast and catch up with the rest of the world before we lose it all.

Here are a few of the influencers to follow to get news, thoughts and even updates about technology events and discussions in Africa. I hope they fire you up, or keep the fire about tech in you burning.
